Shoulder Anatomy and Pain

These are all the muscles involved with your shoulder. A common buzzword used is rotator cuff tear. There are only 4 rotator cuff muscles, the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor and subscapularis. There are many muscles that attach in the same general area that could be causing your pain.

As an overhead athlete himself, Dr. Ling has experienced many types of shoulder pain including, labral tears, shoulder surgery, impingement, rotator cuff tears. So he is well aware of which muscles are involved with each injury.

Dr. Ling uses MRT/ART and a lot of rehab to fix shoulder pains. The most important thing is to determine which muscles are actually causing the pain. For example, the front pinch at the front or side of your shoulder can be caused by many different muscles and is much different than a deep painful click. If you have pain in your shoulder, book an appointment with Dr. Ling today, he can help.
